EPISTEMOLOGY APPLIED TO THE LANGUAGE CLASS - LA GRAN COLOMBIA UNIVERSTITY
INSTRUCTIONS TO DEVELOP THE ACTITY:
Step 1: Taking into account the main characteristics and theories of one of the following concepts (you are given just one), in pairs, think of 10 strategies for applying the concept to a language class and explain how this would improve your students' learning process.
* The concepts and the students in charge of each one, are:
- Perception: Alberto Moya and Elisabeth Galindo / Lizeth Mendieta.
- Memory: Derly Posada and Carlos Triana.
- Remembering: Berly Abril and Adriana del Pilar Rojas.
- Recalling: Mayra Cáceres and Tatiana Flórez.
- Imagining: Camilo Andrés Daza and Jennifer Barrero.
- Introspection:
- Inference:
- Thinking:
For example, one strategy could be: providing kids with reading comprehension activities in which they will have to make predictions, draw background knowledge or make judgments. This can be achieved through Inference, one of the skills used to comprehend spoken and written texts.
Step 2: After discussing with your partner about the 10 strategies, including the main characteristics and the theory that supports it (revise Audi's book), go to www.powtoon.com and create a five minute animated video where you present the information with descriptions and examples. Before doing this, visit the following links: How to use Powtoon: https://www.youtube. com/watch?v=AFv8L0z-72c - Example of a video about inference using Powtoon: https://www.youtube. com/watch?v=to30AJm2epQ
Step 3: Finally, upload your video in Youtube and send the link to post it in the Epistemology Blog.
